February 4, 2008: Virgin Airlines Article

+ This is just a quick update, don't miss Saturday's update!

+ Check out the Small Steps to Stellar Careers article in the Virgin Blue Magazine, which is Virgin Atlantic Airlines' monthly magazine. Nic & Tristan were in this month's magazine!

+ I finally added the clip from when Nic & Tristan were on the Ellen Degeneres show back in January. Click here to go to the TV/Movie Clips and click on the first one to see their appearance on Ellen! I'll also be adding the transcript soon.

+ I update the Puehse Twins Movie Project page with all the new information about the filming/making of the movie. I'll update this page whenever new information comes out, so you'll see a summary of everything there :)

- There's a huge update today with tons of info, but what I'm most excited about is the upcoming movie! The start date for filming is scheduled for either March 3rd or March 10th. They'll be heading to Los Angeles about 8-10 days before starting to do rehearsals. They're getting the script this week, and they've had lots of practice with memorizing so they probably won't find it too hard to memorize these ones :) A bit of info about the movie cast, the supporting characters will be a friend, who's a girl, the babysitter and the parents. I'm not sure who's playing the parts right now, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough!

- Yesterday Nic & Tristan went snowboarding at Sierra Ski Ranch! They've only been a few times this year, but they're planning to go again really soon as they won't be able to once they go to Los Angeles to film their movie! Click below to see some photos from today!

- It's February! We have a new Site of the Month and Photo of the Month! The new photo is from late 2006 when Nic & Tristan went go-karting after Christmas! - Nic & Tristan are in the February in-flight magazine for Virgin Atlantic Airways! They're part of a story called High Flying Kids. Sounds pretty cool.

+ Well I'm not sure what happened to the last update, it just disappeared. What it said basically was that this month Nic & Tristan are in Staf Magazine. With all of you, Mike Puehse, Tristan and Nic Puehse father, the skateboarding twins.

How did they find out about skateboard?
On December 2003, when the skatepark of the city where we lived opened. Tristan and Nic told us to take them there.

When did you realize that they had been born to skateboard?
I'd say it was 6 months before then I started to notice certain natural skills and talent inside those little bodies.

Are completely devoted to the twins?
Almost. I'm lucky to run my own business, which allows me to have flexible working hours.

What did you know about that sport when they started?
Nothing at all. When I was 12, I had a skate, but I didn't use it much.

How long do they skate a day?
When they started, they skated 4 or 5 hours. Now, they skate 12 hours a week.

And are their lives normal? I know that they've got sponsors...
Their sponsors are very understanding. They want Tristan and Nic to use their material when they skate. Tristan and Nic aren't under pressure and they skate whenever they want.

What do they want to be when they are older?
They want to be professional skaters.

+ Nic & Tristan will be getting a new movie website! A few days ago they went to San Francisco for a meeting with a new company that will market the movie. This includes a new website! Keep your eyes open for that! :)

+ There's not a lot of news about Nic & Tristan, but they do start filming their movie around the beginning of March. On the official movie site, a news section was added to the main page. Also, if you didn't already know, the videos of Nic & Tristan on the site show a lot of unseen skate footage! They're pretty long, but definitely worth seeing.

+ Added some new icons in Nic Face Avatars and Tristan Face Avatars

+ We have a few new affiliates, Kalani David Fanzone, Jackson Brundage Online, and Peyton List

+ Ellen posted the following in her newsletter about Nic & Tristan!

I hope you enjoyed my favorite kids week as much as I did. I love kids. I'm thinking about opening up a daycare in the riff raff room. It's too bad that we have to grow up, but I guess at some point, the parents really need the break. I read that the only animals that stay with their parents longer than humans are whales. It's probably easier having a whale baby. You never have to get them to clean their room, you never have to make them wash behind their ears. ...I don't think whales even have ears. ...I wonder how they keep their glasses on?

Marc Yu is great on the piano, but I like his jokes even more. Of course, Emily Bear was wonderful as usual. I wish she could be on every day. Maybe I should have an all kid house band. Tristan and Nic Puehse are amazing skateboarders. I bet their mom is a nervous wreck. Someday, when he's headlining in Vegas, you'll go to see the grown up Anthony Gargiula and say to yourselves, "I first saw this guy on Ellen." I can't wait to hear his backstage reports from American Idol. Speaking of Idols, I was totally surprised by Mary J. Blige's birthday present. What a gift to have someone so talented sing for me. It was great to see all the improvements that ZOOTOO made to Janice Wolf's animal refuge. What a fantastic human being.

+ I finally finished the new gallery layout! Check it out!

+ I added some photos from Nic & Tristan's trip to Los Angeles to film Ellen and to do their screen test! Before taping Ellen, Nic & Tristan were luckily able to land the tricks they did after 15 minutes of practice, but unfortunately the building of the ramp was behind schedule so they didn't get to do anything spectacular. They were hoping to do 180s, 360s and kickflips across the gap, but that's alright, I think it turned out fine anyways :) Check out some photos, which include ones from the official movie site,
